Annie Wersching, an actor best known for her roles in "24" and "Runaways," has passed away at the age of 45

Annie Wersching, an actress best known for her roles as FBI agent Renee Walker in the television series "24" and as Tess in the video game "The Last of Us," has passed away. 45 years old.

According to her publicist, Wersching lost her battle with cancer and passed away early Sunday morning in Los Angeles. It was not stated what kind of cancer it was.

On Twitter, Neil Druckmann, the author of "The Last of Us," stated, "We just lost a beautiful artist and human being." My heart is broken. My thoughts are with her family.

"We love you Annie Wersching," tweeted Abigail Spencer, an actress who co-starred with Wersching on the sci-fi series "Timeless." I will deeply miss you.


Wersching had a two-decade career that included appearances on dozens of television shows. She was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri.

Her first major role came in "Star Trek: She would go on to have recurring roles in the seventh and eighth seasons of "24," "Bosch," "The Vampire Diaries," Marvel's "Runaways," and "The Rookie," as well as the second season of "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Picard as the Queen of the Borg.

Deadline reports that Wershing was given a cancer diagnosis in 2020 and continued working. Her husband, the actor Stephen Full, and her three sons are still living. Sunday saw the creation of a GoFundMe page to assist the family.
